Junior Church and Nursery

K-2 Junior Church

Each Sunday during the worship service, youngsters are invited forward for the “Children’s Message”.  As the children depart the sanctuary, the K-2 students proceed downstairs to Junior Church.  The classroom is located at the end of the hallway, in the last room on the right.  Each week a different volunteer facilitates the Junior Church lesson and various activities, which range from reading books, storytelling, acting out Bible stories and watching Christian videos to drawing, painting, making puppets, crafting cards and planting seeds.   Although Junior Church is a relatively relaxed setting, teachers expect the children who attend to be well behaved and engaged.

Nursery

Welcome to the First Congo’s nursery where we love babies and children! We are a fully staffed nursery to take care of your little ones so you have a chance to worship. It’s also a nice way to get to know the young families of our church. The nursery is located downstairs in the church underneath the Billings Room/WCCC  and is staffed by several adults, including a paid employee.
The nursery is available for infants through those having yet to enter to kindergarten. Please sign in your child(ren)  before Sunday School or the worship service begins.
During the worship service the nursery has the following schedule – first there is a time of structured/free play, story or craft time and then a small snack.  After the service please come and sign out/pick up your children.
Although there is a paid staff person who is there each week, we rely on volunteers from within the congregation to help out as well.  All parents who use the nursery are encouraged to sign up to take turns volunteering from time to time.
